Warum wir 2026 Surf Coaching Weeks auf den Malediven machen - No Borders Surf Crew

Why we're holding Surf Coaching Weeks in the Maldives in 2026

Manuel Paulitsch

No Borders Surf Crew is not a surf school. It never has been and it never will be.

The idea for the Surf Coaching Weeks 2026 in the Maldives arose from something else entirely: the conviction that targeted training, video analysis, and professional coaching are the most effective way to truly improve your surfing skills. Not just a little, but noticeably and sustainably.

Making surfing better. Together.

One of our goals with the No Borders Surf Crew is to advance the sport. To push people, raise the level, create structures, and develop athletes in the long term. Not necessarily just for competitions, but for everyone who takes surfing seriously and wants to improve.

And preferably together. With like-minded people who think alike, have similar goals, and motivate each other. This sense of crew and community is a huge part of why development happens at all.

Why the Maldives

The decision to go to the Maldives wasn't random. We held a vote in the community on where we should go, and the Maldives were the clear winner.

The reason is simple: consistent, clean point breaks , perfect waves for training, and ideal conditions for filming and analyzing from shore. We deliberately travel during shoulder season , a time when it's less crowded.

Yes, the swells are usually a bit smaller during this time. But that's precisely the point. Medium swells, few people in the water, and plenty of space are perfect for trying things out, working on technique, and surfing lots of waves. For coaching, this is often more valuable than huge days with a lot of stress in the lineup.

Why coaching and not just a surf trip?

Many people know this feeling. You're on a surfing holiday, surfing a lot, maybe even catching some really good waves, but at some point, you hit a plateau. Without feedback, without analysis, without a clear structure, you often can't progress any further.

This is precisely where the coaching comes in. Filmed sessions, video analysis, and targeted feedback reveal what's really happening , not just what feels good or bad. This creates a common thread that can be worked on.

Our goal is to fill this gap. No mass surfing camp, no superficial tips, but continuous support over several days . So that development doesn't happen by chance, but consciously.

Why choose Pablo Solar

With Pablo Solar, we have the opportunity to work with one of the most experienced surf coaches in Europe. His coaching style is clear, direct, and extremely effective. That's exactly what we want to do.

The combination of his experience and the setting in the Maldives makes it possible to combine training and vacation. You spend time in the water, but also time truly understanding your own surfing.

Small, personal and consciously for the first time

These surf coaching weeks are the first time we've implemented this format. We're deliberately keeping the groups small . No mass processing, no time pressure, but plenty of space for each individual.

We invest time, energy, and attention here because we are convinced that this is exactly how progress is made: personally, with focus, and in an environment that motivates rather than stresses.

For those who want more

This project is for anyone who wants to seriously improve their surfing skills. For those who don't just want to surf, but want to understand why things work or don't.
