What does “No Borders” mean to us?

No Borders Surf Crew – that's more than just a cool name on a T-shirt. It's a stance. An invitation. And sometimes even a small protest against what stands in our way.

Surfing knows no boundaries – neither do we

Many of us have Austrian passports but live on coasts several hours' flight from Austria. We call South Africa our home, paddle in the Canary Islands, train in Portugal, work in Peru, or study in Spain. The sea is our playground, our school, our haven of peace – but it's not in our homeland.

Despite this—or perhaps because of it—we want to be part of a national team. For many of us, this was impossible for a long time. No association, no support, no platform. Just passion—and the will to keep going.

A crew instead of a unit

The No Borders Surf Crew was born out of precisely this spirit. We're not a traditional organization with offices and structures. We're a community organized through WhatsApp groups, voice messages, shared Airbnbs, and communal training sessions.

We help each other prepare for contests. We share costs, surf wax, and tips. And when one of us is surfing at a European Championship or World Championship, we're all there—at least in our hearts or via video call.

For all landlocked surfers with vision

For us, “No Borders” means:
– You can be part of a team even when you travel alone.
– You can surf for your country even if you don’t live there.
– You are welcome as long as you bring passion, respect and spirit.

Whether you're on your first surfing trip or thinking about representing Austria at an international contest for the first time, you've come to the right place.

With our first T-shirt, we want to make this spirit visible. It's not a piece of merchandise, but a symbol: of belonging, support, and community. With every shirt, you help us finance our dreams—from training camps and contest trips to the visibility we've long missed.
